The Haas Alumni Network San Francisco invites you to join Bay Area alumni of the Haas School and of other top business schools for an evening of mingling, cocktails and a performance of a world premiere play by one of the hottest young playwrights in the country.
Presented by foolsFURY, a highly acclaimed national theater company, PORT OUT STARBOARD HOME is a rollicking black comedy that posits the question of whether we can buy spiritual enlightenment and have it served up with a mai-tai and an umbrella on a luxurious cruise.
There will be a no-host bar and light refreshments will be served.

About the production:
PORT OUT STARBOARD HOME (POSH) is a rollicking black comedy, set on a luxury cruise ship where an eclectic group of seekers form an intimate temporary community. Untethered from the baggage of past or future, they become entangled in a strange and disturbing ritual. POSH offers a surreal view of a pampered society accustomed to purchasing piña coladas and spiritual bliss with the same swipe of the credit card.
About the playwright:
Sheila Callahan is a highly-acclaimed writer for the stage, television and film and has been selected in 2010 as one of Marie Claire’s “Women on Top: 18 women who are changing the world.” Sheila is the recipient of the Princess Grace Award for emerging artists, a Jerome Fellowship from the Playwright's Center in Minneapolis, a MacDowell Residency, a 2005 Cherry Lane Mentorship Fellowship, the Susan Smith Blackburn Award, and the prestigious Whiting Award.
About the presenter:
foolsFURY has established a national reputation as a path-bending ensemble theater company with a focus on developing and presenting new dramatic work. They have been named San Francisco’s “Best Theater Company” (SF Weekly 2008), and awarded the GOLDIE award for outstanding local theater group (Bay Guardian 2007). foolsFURY is co-presenting this production with Z Space in San Francisco and La Mama in New York. http://foolsfury.org/
